Demo: LLM AI Lemko & Rusyn Translators

It’s Friday, February 20, 2026, and I’m publishing a quick demo of what I’ve been building: an AI (LLM)-powered translator that translates from English (and other regional languages) into Lemko, plus a Rusyn translator for Slovakia.

Tomorrow (Feb 21) is International Mother Language Day, so for the demo I translate the first paragraph of the Wikipedia article as a small tribute to heritage languages.

Try it live

What this tool does

  • Sentence-by-sentence translation (splits a paragraph into sentences and translates them one at a time)
  • Multiple alphabets / transliteration modes so you can share results with family and friends in the writing system they actually use:
    • Polish Latin (easy to read in Poland)
    • Cyrillic
    • English alphabet (comfortable for US/UK readers)
    • Czech/Slovak options
    • Hungarian option (for example, if you’re messaging someone in Budapest)
    • Scientific transliteration (available on upgrade)

Why I’m building this

Because languages don’t survive in museums—they survive in messages, jokes, daily life, and family group chats.

If you’re a heritage speaker, have Lemko/Rusyn roots, or you’re learning, this is for you.

Happy translating — and happy Mother Language Day.
